Argan oil (Moroccan liquid gold) is one of the rarest oils in the world. Argan oil has been traditionally used as treatment for skin diseases in North Africa. Argan oil is exceptionally rich in natural tocopherols (vitamin E), rich in phenols and phenolic acid, rich in carotenes, rich in squalene, rich in essential fatty acids, 80% unsaturated fatty acids and high resistant to oxidation. The production of argan oil, which is still mostly done by traditional methods, is a lengthy process done by women. In traditional Morocco medicine, Argan oil is used for the care of the body and face to counteract the effects of age or weather.  Used on theface, body, nails and hair. It is a great skin moisturizer and also great body massage oil. Ideal for all skin types, including sensitive, acne, rosacea and eczema prone. It is also said to help ailments such as arthritis,aching muscles, and sunburn relief. It works wonderfully on wrinkles and dry skin, reduces visible scars left by acne, chicken pox, and spots and other damage like chapped, cracked skin and on burns and scalds.  Used also for the care of the scalp, it restores shine to dull, lifeless hair and it strengthens brittle nails. Argan oil is easily absorbed by the skin hence non greasy.
There are 3 versions of Argan oil in the market

1.Toasted Argan oil. The Argan nuts are toasted before pressing. This produces a rich flavorful aroma and adds amber to the Argan oil. This oil is mostly used for culinary but sometimes sold as cosmetic.
2.Deodorized Argan oil; This is the most common Argan oil in the market. The natural Argan scent can be off putting to some people. For appeal, after the initial pressing the Argan oil is then deodorized. This will produce Argan oil with no smell or very faint. The color varies from yellow to almost clear. The method of deodorizing varies from one company to another hence many versions in the market.
3.Raw Argan oil: This is the virgin Argan oil that has not gone through further processing after pressing. It is yellowish in color and has a characteristic distinct Argan scent a few may not like at first.

Therefore expect the characteristic natural scent of fresh raw Argan oil which many people have no problems with but bothers some when it is first time of use.
